Serving at TEBC

The Importance Of Volunteer Leaders At TEBC

It would be impossible for any church to carry out its ministries without the involvement of its members. Church membership carries with it the biblical responsibility of serving and helping.

Many caring adults serve in every ministry capacity at TEBC. They have discovered the joy of serving and blessing others with their time and talents.

The church is a FAMILY, not a BUILDING, and God expects you to be a FAITHFUL member!

The Importance Of Being Connected Through Service

Studies have continued to confirm a key truth: 85% of people who are connected to the church by serving in one of its ministries will still be connected to it in 5 years. Serving helps individuals and families maintain those important ties to the church so that they don’t drift away into inactivity, only to return later during a time of crisis.

You Are An Important Member Of A New Family

“Capturing the Culture of Christ!” You will find that phrase on about everything we publish at Town East, but what does it mean?

As a new Christian and/or church member you have been adopted into a family of faith through the sacrifice symbolized by the cross! You will worship, pray, fellowship, and minister with this new family. These activities help bind us together as we strive in, “Capturing the Culture of Christ!”

In order for the family to function smoothly and harmoniously, each member must make a positive contribution. It is important, and God expects for you, to participate in the life and ministry of the church. As a result of your commitment and participation the church will benefit and you will grow to be more like Christ.

One of the goals of TEBC is to help its members discover their God-given capacity for service through biblical teaching and instruction on spiritual gifts.

Once a person is aware of his or her spiritual gift (or gifts, in most cases), they can find a place of service that best fits their spiritual gifting, personality, background, experiences, and passions. We encourage our members to use their spiritual gifts:

1) In ministries that are carried out on the church campus (small-group Bible study leaders, adult class leader positions, choir, preschool ministry, children’s ministry, student ministry, etc)

 2) In places that are off-campus (neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, sports and recreation activities, mission trips, and wherever life takes you)
